  📰 Delhi’s Stray Dog Order: A Flawed Fix The Supreme Court has ordered that all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR be captured and shifted to shelters within weeks, warning that anyone obstructing the process will face penalties. This came after rising dog-bite cases and rabies concerns. But here’s the truth: removing dogs won’t solve the problem. Overcrowded shelters mean more suffering, and aggression in strays is born from hunger, neglect, and lack of care. Delhi doesn’t need a mass removal, it needs responsible management and community care.  Safety for people must go hand in hand with dignity for animals. Community care begins with simple kindness - feeding, giving clean water, and treating stray dogs with dignity. When we show them love instead of fear, they become protectors of our streets, not threats. A caring neighborhood is always a safer neighborhood.

  Stray dog attacks      Very recently I became aware of a cruel attack. A mid-aged lady was on her morning walk, on entering a new street she was cruelly attacked by seven stray dogs. She unfortunately passed away on the way to hospital. The video of the attack was incessantly shared   in WhatsApp groups along with a warning message : " During morning walks carry sticks for safety". To everyone of us this may seem as a pitiful event (towards the lady).  Following this many members of that locality   may carry a stick, hit or kill the dogs that come in their way to ensure safety. We can't blame this notion of understanding, yet there is something else of utmost priority.  Reason of animal's behavior in an arrogant way? If you personally have a pet , will your animal behave that way? Of course not right!
