📰 Delhi’s Stray Dog Order: A Flawed Fix

The Supreme Court has ordered that all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR be captured and shifted to shelters within weeks, warning that anyone obstructing the process will face penalties. This came after rising dog-bite cases and rabies concerns.

But here’s the truth: removing dogs won’t solve the problem. Overcrowded shelters mean more suffering, and aggression in strays is born from hunger, neglect, and lack of care. Delhi doesn’t need a mass removal, it needs responsible management and community care. 

Safety for people must go hand in hand with dignity for animals.

Community care begins with simple kindness - feeding, giving clean water, and treating stray dogs with dignity. When we show them love instead of fear, they become protectors of our streets, not threats. A caring neighborhood is always a safer neighborhood.
